CEL, Erratic RPM, MPH, and Fuel level gauge
I was driving home this afternoon, with my truck camper on the truck and noticed the fuel level guage went from a 1/4 tank, to past empty over the course of a few seconds. The the low fuel light came on. Then a few seconds later the check engine light flashed on for 2-3 seconds then went off. I notice this with the RPMs up around 1800-1900. Then the fuel gauge went back to reading properly and the gas light went off.
Then further down the road about 5 min later. I was climbing another steep grade around 45-50mph in 4th gear about 1900-2000 rmp. Then the RPM guage starting bouncing around erraticly, then the CEL flashed a few more times, then the MPH gauge dropped out entirely for several seconds, the fuel guage read past empty....This went on until I crested the hill. Made it to the service station, left the truck running to cool down, filled it with diesel, and everything was fine. The fuel gauge is reading properly and no CEL or eratic reading on RPM or MPH. Got home from the gas station w/ no more issues.
Sorry for the long story...any suggestions?
Thanks.
Scott

Sounds like an intermittent poor ground.
Very difficult to track down until it does it continuously.
You could check that the grounds are all tight and clean.
You'll need the factory service manual to find them all, there must be at least a dozen.
