If it were me I would just buy a whole new unit. also, changing the u-joints while you are at it is another good idea that infidel mentioned. you don't want to be pulling it apart again in a couple of months.

I actually replaced mine with a OEM spicer part from Dodge. I ordered it from the dealer and after I did some reading here I was thinking that they probably had ordered the wrong part because it was only $68.00. While I was waiting for the part to come I called a transmission shop and got the info I posted. Because I ordered it I thought I would give the dealer the first shot. It was the right part, so I used it. I don't know the cost of the aftermarket bearing or how easily it comes out of the housing, but I know the old bearing comes out of the dodge housing very easily since I have done that. I changed the rear u-joints at the same time and got rid of the howling sound.
