brake pedal travels to floor

well i will start out with the fact that i'm too lazy to look at my truck yet. i read somewhere here that the 94-95 vacuum brakes had some problems and i was doing some research and really can't find the symptoms i have. here's whats going on. if you are driving and push the brakes it's a 50-50 shot that the pedal stays at the top, or goes dang near to the floor. if i hold the pedal it goes all the way to the floor after a couple seconds. sorta like a poopy mc. it also goes half way down like the rear brakes are out of adjustment which is impossible since i just put new shoes and drums on it today. i also put new pads and rotors on it today also. the brakes are still the same so i think there might be an air leak or the mc is shot, but i figured if someone with a 95 had sorta the same thing i'd look at what it was and see if mine is shot. i spent 5 hours on the dang brakes and front axle joints and my knees are too tired to continue digging around, so any help would be great.

sounds like the MC if you put light pressure on the peddle does it slowly go to the floor? and if you hit it hard and fast will it hold? these are symptoms of MC failures

Good luck! I chased that problem for days and never came up with anything. I replaced the MC and it made NO difference at all. I put a few new rubber lines on and it helped some. It's tolerable now but not great. The brakes have been terrible since 9 years ago when i bought the truck. Let me know if you figure something out.

I put a factory cruise control unit on mine and lost the brake pedal. I unhooked it and it was back.So for now I'm still not running the cruise till I figure it out.

nuttins leaking and the lines look new which is ridiculous for the up of mi. i think the mc or the goldang fluid is just shot. pumps up right away when it goes down, but the funny thing is it doesn't do it all the time. today if i get a chance i'm gonna look at it and i'll let anyone know if i find anything.
