Why bother experimenting? Give Dodge brake guru Sam Peterson a call at 360-357-4958 M-F 8-5 Pacific.
Around $40 will get you two pairs of new pins and pads that are perfectly matched to the rotors in our trucks.
The right pad is a delicate balance, too hard and long wearing they will squeal and chew up your rotors. Too soft and they will make lots of dust and wear out fast. Sam's carbo-mets are the perfect match.

I'm all for safety but when it comes to ceramic brakes I think the only difference (other than if you are going down a steep mountain with 20k lbs behind you) is the wear it'll cause to your rotors. I like semi-metallics, I'd suggest going to autozone or such though and find a set that you get a liftetime warranty on so you buy this set and can feel free to replace your pads every 6 months for free from now on.
Are the Hawks the ones that TireRack sells, Red and Green? A friend of mine has one of them, they have insane brake dust but no cheating the conservation of mass... the pads aren't very old and are all worn out.
