Brake Lights
Hi Guys,
Have an intermittent problem with my brake lights. Sometimes after driving my truck I notice the brake lights are still on after I park. In the past I have been able to alliviate this problem by removing the fuse for the brake lights and then re-inserting it into the fuse block. I tried that this morning and it did not make a difference. It was raining when I noticed the problem so thought it was water related but could not find any bad connections. Pushed on the little rubber boats on the master cylinder blocks and the lights went off. Any ideas?

I have had similar problems in the past. I'm almost certain your brake light switch under the dash is out of adjustment. Get your head under there to see where the pedal arm contacts the switch and you will most likely see that it is slightly engaged. If I remember right, the switch is just a press fit that you can move by hand to the correct setting. I also had a bad trailer plug receptacle that caused my brake lights to stay on. I replaced it with a new one and that problem went away too.
Hope this helps.
