I used some pvc black pipe glue together, then drilled and tapped for an air compressor hose line adapter. I use my leak down tester on it then connect my air compressor to the leak down gauge. It lets you easily vary the inlet pressure, but you could do with out it and just use your air compressor pressure regulator.

On the other end....I use plumbing plugs. I dont know what they are but a freind that is a plumber uses them I think to plug plumbing pipes while he works. Its a big rubber plug shaped like male anatomy with a shrader valve on the end. You just stick it in and air it up. I ussually stick it in the exhuast, but you can pull other parts of the air intake off and plug it there, like the intercooler pipe that connects to the intake manifold. You just have to be alittle carefull with the air pressure cause it will slip out sometimes and make a pretty good sound. lol

My boost tester.
PVC is 4". Rubber connector is 4"ID x 4" OD from Home Depot.
Clamps directly on to the turbo intake.

is it possible to use the little port where you would hook up a gauge line?

Sure but you would still have to block air from coming backwards out the turbo inlet. By the time you do that you just as well could have made an adaptor like the one I described.
