BOMBING advice
I have a 97 5 spd 354's with 215 pump. I plan to get 370's and #10 plate and haven't made up my mind on what turbo or clutch to invest in. heard of PDRHX40 and was wandering what results you guys have had with it. Also have thought about 13.5 con o fe. give me some feedback, i would appreciate it.
carty

Re:BOMBING advice
Think about a set of governor spring too 3GSK or 4GSK...then it needs to breath at both ends air intake and exhaust this will help keep your EGT down...Heads up this guy is Bombing

Thanks for your replies,
I haven't touched my timing yet, will here very shortly, nieghbor has the pump tool.

Eddie-Please explain abd, and how touchy is your clutch? I pull wagons around on the farm and wouldn't want to pinch someones finger when I back up because of a jumpy clutch.
Also don't you have to have HD valve springs to run a 4K rpm springs?

Re:BOMBING advice
I pull gooseneck trailers almost everyday.
The clutch doesn't jump at all, no probs backing into barns, ect.
The Con FE will grab a little is what Peter at southbend told me.
Thats why I went with the OFE.
Sometimes I wish I would have tried the Fe but Peter recomended the OFE.
He said the FE is like the old bronze button clutches, but they don't grab nearly as bad.
I used to run one of those in a gasser truck and had to take it out because I couldn't hardly back a cattle trailer in to the loading chute without hitting it.
Hope this helps. If there is any thing else I can help you with PM me or something.
And ENJOY your CTD !

: Eddie : 8)

DeereDiesel:

Welcome to the website!

Both my son and I are currently running Piers' HX-40/16.
We are both VERY HAPPY with how the turbo performs!
On my 96' Dodge 12 valve, I had an increase of 27 H.P.
over the stock HX-35/12!! My EGT's are lower and I can
"hold the throttle" alot longer! My top speed increased
by three (3) M.P.H. The "reliability" is MUCH better on
Piers HX-40 than a "stock" HX-40 because Piers modifies
the oil galleries for better lubrication and he "balances"
the shaft.

I have also run the "B-1 Turbo" on my truck. I posted
a "comparison" between these two turbos awhile back
in the "Products and Accessories" Section. If you will
go to that section, and "page back" you should find it.
It is titled, "B-1 v.s. Piers HX-40" posted by me; John_P.
Maybe one of the moderators will see this and post the
thread for us.

Good luck!

---------
John_P
