Big leak

Today when I started my truck I let it sit and Idle for about 10 min, like I normally do.
When I came back out to the truck I found a big puddle of Diesel under the truck.
I took it to my mechanic (performance diesel In Bakersfield) it still ran ok to his shop about 10 miles.
The called me back and told me there was a tear in the membrane in the supply pump and it was where the leak came from.
Now my question I also have the Thread in the Emergency section My truck will lose power when pulling.
Could this have something to do with this could the pump have started failing and just now gave up.
Anyway it is now being changed I’m hoping this also will take care of my missing power when pulling.

Thanks

low fuel pressure will cause a loss of power on 12v, i had one last week that had a dirty filter and it would barley run 70 on the interstate.

Been checking your oil lately?
When the membrane tears it usually leaks fuel into the engine.
I had one come in with 6 extra quarts of diesel polluted oil.

I'm having the oil and filter changed the same time and fuel filter again.

I just hope this was what causing my other problems.
