I thought that was originally the problem on mine, that the cables were just loose on the battery posts. But I got them tightened up good, and it still acted up, so apparently, the cables were just corroded bad enough up inside the terminals that it was just making a really bad connection. I made sure to clean them up good before i put the new terminals on them.

Surprising how little it takes to get a tight fit again.
For a couple of bucks you can buy preformed caps that fit over the terminals.

Im not sure where I seen it but it will come to me.

Eric,

Check out these guys - they will make you custom cables, and have lots of parts and info (including correct lengths) if you want to make your own:

I use 2/0 welding cable, ring terminals and military style clamps. This is a good option because when the clamps wear out, you just get a new set of clamps - you dont have to mess around with the cables:

That is a sweet setup Dr Evil, I like how that is done. I will probably run what i have for a while, but I might look at the Farm Machinery Show this year in February and see what they have. They usually have terminals, and crimping kits, and dad was talking about buying one, but it is working good for now. Truck fired right up at 21* this morning
