Battery cables.

Battery cables.
Does anyone know the size of the cables? I'm not interested in paying the $600 for the set. I want to make a set since I've seen others make them and also have the tools. Just not the supplies. At least not yet. Let me know anything you can.

3/0 is common at any electrical supply outfit, I wouldn't go any smaller than 1/0. Ask for "locomotive cable", or their equivalent flexible cable. It won't be cheap any way you go, copper is on the rise again....

I ordered all the stuff except for the 2/0 cable from this vendor http://www.delcity.net/ Shrink wrap, connectors, hammer crimper etc. . I bought the cable locally at a industrial supply house that had some old stock so it was not too expensive. I went with the military style battery clamps I'm not sure Del City had them when I ordered the stuff because I did get those at NAPA. Nobody in my town builds them from scratch with 2/0

I have a tractor truck repair company in town- brought the offending cables to them and they made me a replacement in under 30 min.... 2 cables changed so far from them.
WAY cheaper then the replacement cost from *******

I had new cables made for mine. The dealer wanted way to much for them and I couldn't get "store bought" ones from the parts stores, I went to a auto parts store here in town and they built them for me, both sides (dual battery) for I think $130. They were the crimped fittings along with shrink tubing to protect where the wire entered the fitting and they used 2o wire, which seemed bigger than some of the original wire.
They work great.

Well I have the same problem, truck turned over real slow today, found that the cable ends have finally had it. I went to NAPA and bought some connectors to try to get myself up and running today, but then I found after stripping the cable back corrosion had gone back several inches into the cables, so it looks like its time to replace them. So I had to drive the deuce and a half to work with no heat... still can't feel my fingers
Anyway, I won't have any time off work this week to go get cables, so I was hoping I could order everything I needed online.
Would this 2/0 gauge cable work?

Thanks,
