I wanted the delivery valves for future expansion. I am not a diesel guy by any means. I work on trail rigs and play toys. I know he is doing alot of work and I have checked around at shop rates. He is at 90$ an hour. A little high, but he has had rigs featured in diesel power magazine. And I am hearing good stuff from him on the boards. In my opinion, as I have looked at install proceedures and such, the work looks to take me two or three days. I have not done any detailed work like this on my truck. So it is foreign to me. As this is also a work truck for now, I cant have it down for too long. If I mess something up, I am screwed. He quoted me one day to complete all the work. I ultimately want it done right. And need to be able to get some sort of warranty on the work. It is peace of mind for me to have someone who more than knows what they are doing to do this job. I will tinker and play with my 91' it was cheap, and if I mess something up it can sit. I am also going to have the tranny done at a local shop. It is almost spring and time to play.

dont do delivery valves for future expansion... get some bigger injectors with the correct spray pattern. if you need more fuel after that, get delivery valves. from personal expierence you can use your fuel plate to cut fuel to the point you can't get egt's over 800 with a stock turbo with DDP4's. move the plate forward and hold on. im just trying to make the point injectors are cleaner than delivery valves and you can get the same end result of more fuel and buying 2 sets of injectors because your first set wasn't enough is very expensive. you said youre looking for 400hp... DDP2's should do the trick with 181's. if you want more than 400 down the road look at the 3's or 4's. you can always cut fuel with the plate.

What 370's are you going with? Marine 370's, New Era 370's, F1 HR370's, or something else? I'd look to the latter two, will be cleaner and produce more power. Marine 370's are cheap though. Unless you want to buy another set of injectors later (and you might, if you go bigger), I'd spend money now and buy quality sticks.

I am not finding the triple disk torque conv. anywhere as low as 600$ anyone find one? if so please paste a link. I am having trouble. I am as well going to stay away from the delivery valve changes. And go with marine 370's. I will have him do the fuel plate as this seems to be the hardest part along with the timing. I willl undertake the exhaust and boost elbow myself. And maybe some of the easier things to boot.

get him to do the timing, everything else you really cant mess up. as far as injectors, keep an eye out in the classefides for a set of quality used injectors. it is well worth the wait. what area are you in? im sure theres someone on here around you that is willing to lend a hand. the fuel plate, gsk, and injectors are easy to change.

yea you can do timing without anything else but you will be happier with the fuel mods first... they are easier and have a bigger effect on performance.

wow you ppl realy dont like the banks company, all i have to say is your trucks suck compared to his!!! he only holds 3 world records with deisel trucks, lets see you do that! there stuff is expensive, but you dont have to wory about burning up your turbo or anything else. gale banks has been building engines for somthing like 40 years, most of you havent been alive that long!!!!

jsemerraro, nice attitude to bring to the fray.

I have known Gale Banks for 30 of those 40 years, and yes, he has a track record. He is also pretty darned arrogant for what he has accomplished. You want good? Run with Duttweiler, he may not do diesels, but he also isn't walking across people with his attitude.

Don't take that as I don't like Gale, because I do, but none of us should become the prophet of performance, because there are a HECK of a lot of good people out there doing equal or better work without all the sunshine being blow up their you know what.
