Banks power system?

LISTEN BANKS IS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. YOU WOULD BE BETTER OFF GOING WITH WWW.SOURCEAUTOMOTIVE.BIZ FOR ALL YOUR UP GARDES. CALL UP THERE ON MONDAY AND EXPLAIN TO THEM WHAT VEHICLE AND MODS YOU ALREADY HAVE THEN TELL THEM WHAT KIND OF USE THE VEHICLE WILL BE FOR(TOWING, RACING, ECT) THEN TELL THEM HOW MUCH YOUR LOOKING TO SPEND AND WHAT KIND OF POWER YOUR LOOKING FOR. THEY WILL GET YOU MORE POWER THAN BANKS FOR A LOT LESS MONEY AND BTW THE OLNY THING THAT THE TWIN RAM DOES IS KEEP THE BACK CYLINDER A LITTLE BIT COOLER AND BESIDES THAT IS LOOKS BAD AND IS ALLWAYS IN THE WAY WHEN YOU GO TO MAKE PLATE ADJUSTMENST AND JUST ABOUT ANY THING TAHT INVOLVES THE PUMP.
TO GET THE MOST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK ID GET SOME GUAGES, A #10 PLATE, A 3KGSK AND AFE INTAKE AND A 4INCH FROM THE TURBO BACK EXHAUST SYSTEM.

you can eat powerstrokes all day for cheap. a plate(less then 50 bucks on ebay), tuned afc and star wheel( free) take the same plate and move it forward (free), boost elbow(comes with the fuel plate), 4 or 5 inch exhaust ( 300 dollars on ebay)and a gsk kit (around 200 dollars on most sites) If you dont have gauges get some for around 300 (also on ebay)

dont but a plate... grind your own. a 100 profile makes sense in functionality and you can adjust the overall fuel by sliding the plate forward or backward. i put ddp4's in my truck yesterday and moved the plate all the way backward because i have a stock turbo and didnt want too much fuel. it was less fuel than stock injectors with the plate forward. needless to say i put the plate forward and was able to respect the additional fuel. for how much they can flow, there is NO HAZE at idle and are very manageable on the street. i would reccomend ddp's all day. find a decent used set, if youre lookin for 400 hp ddp2's should be the ticket.

Depending on the health of the tranny, you might get away with it.. If has some miles on it a refresh of the clutches, bands might be in order to take the added power. Also if you read up on the DTT site, there can be increased internal leakages from the actuators from increased line pressures etc. Now I am not a tranny tech, but if you were wanting the full 400hp to last, it may be worth the investment for a refresh..FWIW.

Ok, I have done alot of research. I went down to mass diesel performance, in walpole, mass and talked to scott the owner. For my application of 400 horses, without changing the turbo, he recommends the following: valve upgrade in fuel pump, 300 marine injectors, 4" aluminized exhuast turbo back, #5 fuel plate, guage pod with egt/boost, change the timing, and something else I cant remember but will type here later. Now for those parts and labor he wants 2400.00. I know there is a markup on the parts. But its a business. Is this worth the money to have a reputable performance diesel shop do this work for me? I am assuming he is at least making a grand or more on this job. Being in business myself, that is what I like to make a day or its not worth it to get up in the morning. I will get his estimate and put more info down later this afternoon. thanks

It's really not too bad a price. Here's how much it costs for parts:
Fuel plate: $35 (used to be a lot more)
Exhaust: $300
Gauges/pillar: $250-300
Injectors: $400-500 for a good brand
Delivery valves: $300 (dv socket: $35)
GSK: $150
Timing/injector install: I was quoted about $300
See what method he uses for timing. The timing pin method may not be too accurate. Someone else might chime in for this, but I'd try to stay away from delivery valves until you really need them. They smoke a lot from what I hear.

For a 98, you don't need DV's for 400 hp, as the 181's will go a long ways, and cleaner too boot.
If you already have a fuel plate, I wouldn't buy another one. Find out what you have now. Push it forward as far as it will go. If you want more, turn it into a 0 plate.
Exhaust is good for EGT reduction, but isn't critical.
Gauges, definitely. I'd reccomend a fuel pressure gauge as well, helps trouble shoot. Unless you are an auto, then get a tranny temp gauge.
Injectors, I'd look at F1/DDP/New Era for the most part. Spend some money now on good ones, so you won't have to buy better ones later.
GSK, I'd go with the 4k. You're looking at around $220 and tha comes with valve springs as well.
Timing, if he is charging $300, I'd buy the timing kit myself and you've already saved money. Its not a hard job, can be done in about 2 hours for a first timer, and thats finding TDC with the drop valve method as well. Less than an hour once you have TDC found.
If you are in the business, unless you just don't want to work on your own stuff, there would be no way I'd send it out to someone else. Save money, and you know what has been done and how its been done. JMO.
