Yikes.. $2800..

When I bought the first "stuff" #10 plate $150, BHAF $40, Exhaust $800 (at the time, much less now), clutch $1050, and made 335Hp to the wheels ($2040). No twin ram here and makes 485 after I added the GSK, Injectors and Turbo...

Its your money. You can just invest more into the tranny by not giving up so much on the power parts. Then you get the power to the ground.

Since this is a play truck, and not a two truck, get a 0 plate, 4k springs and some 140hp injectors. I am partial to the F1's myself. If your tranny is still healthy, get the torque convertor and valve body in it before it starts to self destruct. And it will. The banks stuff is way over priced for what you want and can do with other vendors. You could call one diesel vendor, and they can supply you everything you want to do for less than what that banks kit will run you.

My list to you would be.
0 plate = free, grind your own
4k springs = $15, since it sounds like you have a 3k already.
Valve springs = $120ish.
Exhaust = $400ish, depending on who and where and what you get.
tranny parts = ??? auto's are foreign to me. I'm guessing around $1500 or so.

By then, you should be wanting a bigger turbo, or wanting to add a second turbo. Should also be ready for some head work to keep everything sealed.

Thanks guys. This info is great. I like this board. I am learning more everyday. I agree with the tranny parts. I think I will start with finding what plate I have now, then doing the trans work and exhaust. Would It be smart to buy one of those high ram intakes I see all over ebay? or is the stock one sufficient?

your stock intake is fine. agreeing with above, do a vlave body and tripple disc converter first. 4k kit, injectors (i am about to run the ddp4's and have heard nothing but great things about them) and upgrade or add another turbo. If youre not trying to get into competitions, i would reccomend a big turbo under your stocker so you can have the best of both worlds, quick spool time and volume.

Don't know why folks keep saying the turbo housing is a waste.
I did the same housing mod, non Banks, to both my trucks and it made a huge difference in egts.
What the housing does is increase the turbo to 16cm from 14 with a bigger wastegate that vents all six cylinder rather than three.

I wouldn't say the housing is a waste. The mod sounds good too with the drill through the web. But eventually the HX runs out of air and you need to upgrade..

Before you get too far, you have to pick a HP goal and what you are using the truck for. That will make a difference in what turbos, tranny work etc you need to get there. Of course as the number gets over 400-500 hp the price starts to go up pretty fast for billet parts in the tranny, big turbos.

From that goal, most of your cash is gonna be in the tranny.

I have ordered the trans valve body kit. The torque conv. is very pricey. over a grand. is this normal? If I have an upgraded fuel plate, cant I get more power by moving the plate forward and the housing as well? Like they say in the 7100 tune page? Or is this just for stock plate? I am looking at some injectors. Anyone have any suggestions? I dont really know what to look for. As I said I am green. I plan on buying the mbrp 4" aluminized exhaust. And Will I have to upgrade the turbo, or will this work be sufficient.

You can get a billet single disc torque converter for about $600. You can gain more power by moving any plate forward.

Some of the bigger name TC's are near 1K. There are a bunch around like already mentioned for less. The plate you have should slide per the instructions.

Injectors, well you can do some searches here on them for some opinions. some are cheap and some are not, but thats gonna be a trade off.. For example a cheap set of 370's would be around $400, but getting into DDP (my fave) are near $600 and up depending on the step you take. The cheap 370's, not to be confused with F1 370's, tend to be fairly hazy and smoke more than some would like. The higher end injectors behave more like stock, except when you ask for fuel.

I would go in steps as you have set out here an you will be pleased with every step.

You'll likely need a turbo upgrade before you can really use a good set of injectors.

With my truck listed in my signature, I can get the EGT's up to 1400* if I'm not careful.
