banjo bolt washers
Anyone know the Cummins p/n for the banjo bolt washers used on the injection pump inlet and overflow?
According to http://www.dodgeram.org/tech/dsl/Fac...ecs.html#parts I need 3912887, but I was at the Cummins dealer and the parts they showed me weren't what I was replacing. They were brass, like maybe for DVs, and looked to be smaller in diameter than the banjo bolt. I need the sealing washer that has a rubber ring around the inside. They were in Cummins baggies marked 3912887; I did not buy them. They wouldnt look up anything with my engine number, which I did not have with me

I have used brass/ copper washers originally marked for brake fittings for fuel system bajo bolts. Basically, all they need to do is provide a sealing surface for the banjo bolt and fuel line. I have also reused the rubber washers. I replace them after one reuse.

Looking at tapping my banjo bolt for a fuel pressure gauge. Is it recommended to replace the washers when removing the banjo bolt or overflow valve? Is Infidel's part # 5015576AA still good?

Problem can be losing them though, they have a habit of falling into the void.
That's why I keep a pair of extras on hand...

According to the FSM and Cummins the gaskets for the overflow are not reusable as they are rubber and steel. Just got a pair last week from Cummins NE. Not sure about the inlet- planning on the same thing you are and decided to put in a gage before changing the overflow.
When I first did the valve lash I was told by several people the cover gaskets were reusable. Cummins parts guy said no, they will leak. Everyone who told me they were reusable were astonished when mine leaked like sieves.
For $3.00 in new washers- why even worry about it, just change em.
The parts guy here knows me and knows the engines well- he knew exactly which ones were for the overflow.
If you ask they'll enter your serial and CPL in the customer info screen so you won't need to remember it every time.

When I drilled & tapped the inlet banjo bolt to install a fuel pressure gage I reused the old washers.I also reused the old washers when I replaced the overflow valve. So far no leaks.i have since gotten some spares, just in case.

I already ordered all my parts for the fuel pressure. Found this site after the fact.

Leprechaun: I did order some new washers just incase. Hate to have it all stripped down and SOL with no new washers or potentially lose one taking **** off.

1) you lose the bleeder valve on top of your filter.
2) the gauge is only 30 psi, kit was designed more for a 24 valve.
