Bad injectors or injector pump?
Took my truck (97 3500 auto) today to the dealer to have them raise the idle on it since I couldn't for the life of me find where to do it. They said that they couldn't do it because either I have a leaky injector or the injector pump is going bad.
They are wanting to do a fuel leak test and keep it for 3 hours for 250 plus whatever they charge an hour. Anyway, my question is could a faulty injector/injector pump cause my idle to be lumpy while in drive? When in park, the idle is just barely over 500 on the dash, but in drive it dips into the 400s and kinda idles like its a gasser with a cam. Also, anybody know the part numbers from Napa for the injectors and injector pump. I figure the injectors would be cheaper than the pump itself.

I would first have the idle upped to the required 850, then go from there. Sometimes the extremely low idle will cause loping and misfire synonymous with a bad injector or pump. Having a leaky injector is not inconceivable, however the idle should be attempted first.
For further information consult Dodgeram.org diesel section. It has all the part numbers and instructions you would ever need.
