Automatic help
I'm coming back to the dark side from my 05. The truck I will be replacing is in my sig and has done very well. I gross 14k daily (truck, trailer, load) and quite often in the winter I gross around 20k (on a gooseneck).. I am concerned about the factory auto trans in the 1997 club cab that I have aquired. This truck has a very recent trans replacement and I am looking for ways to improve its performance. Thinking about a new TC and a new valve body. What do you guys with more experience think? This truck will remain close to stock for its life, maybe add a fuel plate and push the star wheel forward (actually I've already spun it up a bit because the truck was gutless).. What do you guys think, I'm trying to avoid spending a ton on a tranny, if I have to do that I'll just keep the 05 and roll on, but I sure do like those old 12v trucks (and no payments!)..
Thanks,
Jason

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
A valve body will go a long way on tranny update. It will apply more pressure to stock converter and make it last longer than stock VB can. KD band adjustment seems a weak link in newer trannys and you may be pusing the envelope on this one with your load. Keep it properly adjusted and when run out of adjustment threads, the band is worn out and time for that o'haul. JMHO
