Anyone used a Speedi-Sleeve for the rear driveshaft?

Anyone used a Speedi-Sleeve for the rear driveshaft?

I have a 1997 extended cab 4X4. My transfer case is leaking at the tail seal. The yoke is worn from the DPO not changing the seal when it needed to be changed.

has anyone tried a Speedi-Seal at this location? I found out the hard way that the yoke is different for extended and standard cabs and I want to be sure I have the correct part # before I buy the Speedi-Seal. Can you post a part # if you know it? This is the yoke on the rear drive shaft.

Thanks,

Bob Elliott

I tried one and it didn't work. I think it is because the sleeve only goes back so far. I think I am going to buy a couple washers and see if I can get this thing to stop leaking. Would it be a bad idea to add washers to the nut that holds the yoke in???

Is the yoke grooved where seal rides? Sometimes you can get a replacemnt seal that runs in slightly different spot. Or is oil coming out of retaining nut area due to damaged "O" ring type seal? Of course you could buy a yoke and be done with the mess.

There is a groove in the yoke. I bought a new yoke from a guy on the board and forgot to tell him that I have an extended cab truck. I found out the hard way that extended cabs use a different yoke. Anyone know a good source for a decent yoke?

My truck is 4X4. Is it the same? If it is I am interested.

My yoke has what looks like a balancer on it.
