Any trans experts aboard?
I need some advice regarding my 95 2500 4x4/4500 trans CTD. It has 150K, trans was rebuilt at 120K, 5th gear fell off at 127K, had new clutch, trans seals, rear main etc done along with the 5th gear fix. Truck went to about 145K and evidently the pilot bearing went? taking out the trans seal and contaminating the clutch enough to cause some bad chatter and leaks but no slip yet. Im still driving it but if its taken on a bit of a drive say 50+ miles it gets pretty sticky to shift and if its summer or just hot and your hauling some weight it gets real noisy on take off or low speed in 2nd(bearing rattle?) and even harder to shift. How can one tell if the trans is failing without full dissambly and its not just from the clutch hanging up? any advice. Id cant drop another $1200 in clutch work to find the trans is shot and has to come out again. I need the truck fixed but cant justify another $2K+ in repairs. any advice would be great. BTW, I dont have the time or flat place to wrench on it, so its shop time.
Thank You.
Thank You.

Yes, Ive checked it several times and its within 1/8" of the fill plug, seems a little oil goes a long way as far as making a mess. I seroiusly doubt the outfit that did the clutch and 5th gear put syntorque in it either, but redline MT90 instead. I realize incorrect lube (GL5) will eat up the syncros, but will redline MT90 screw it up as well?
