What is your source for this fact ??
This is a crucial piece of information for us 12 Valvers to know.

I was just going off of what I was told. I was told by shop that it was crack, I almost traded in my 98.5 for it. That would have been a big mistake. My buddy put about 4000 in the truck the day he bought it, fuel plate, injectors, four inch to and six inch tip, and timing bumped just to find that out. Not to mention the clutch was going when he bought the thing. What a wast, he has a new engine now but it was the fact that it happened. He should have lemon lawed it cause the dealership he bought it from also sold one of our other buddies a pos also. I hope my 98.5 block doesn't give, cause from what I can see it is a 53 block.

A couple years ago I stopped at local Cummins shop for some parts. A motorhome pulled out of the service bay to set up camp in the parking lot. I asked the service manager what was the story. He said they came in with overheating problem and a pressure test revealed a bad block. I asked "53"? He said yes and that Cummins found a replacement engine that would arrive in a few days. RV builders buy engines with a Cummins warranty. Dodge purchases engines without Cummins warranty.
