Another dreadful transmission question
May I first say how thankfull I am to have used this forum for the last few years. You guys on this forum are true life savers, I have never registered until now. To ask yet another transmission question.
I have a 1995 Dodge cummins . Over the last several years I have encountered numerous transmission problems. All of which I have been able to remedy with the help of this forum.
Most the auto trans questions usually have to do with erratic shifting or no shifting at all. The trouble I am having first off is the I am throwing a code 24. I checked the voltage on the center wire of the Tps with the engine at idle. The reading is .06 volts. I know this is too low. I have replaced the Tps and still no change in the voltage.
The shifting problem that I am having is this. On acceleration it shifts flawlessly all the way and locks up fine. If I stay the speed there is no problems. The problem occurs if I left off on the accelerator. It will momentarily lower the RPM to a semi coast but them it abruptly downshifts. This shifting problem is not erratic it is very consistent.
I have messed with the brake pedal and that does not seem to have an effect on the situation. The transmission fluid is fine.
When the TPS voltage is tested it seems to be very consistent with very little fluctuation.
If you could please just point me in the right direction. I know this problem has been addressed to numerous times but it always seems to have to do with erratic shifting which is not the problem in my case.

TPS should be set to 1.0 volt at idle, follow the procedure for TPS adjustment RECALL 970

I think the first thing I would do is to bring the TPS voltage up to .8 to 1 volt at idle. This is accomplished on your truck by adjusting the length of the linkage rod that runs from the throttle bellcrank rearward to the throttle lever on your injector pump. Hopefully it is just misadjusted and and nothing else is causing your low voltage. Does the voltage increase as you open the throttle?
After you make the adjustment, you'll want to verify with a helper that wide open throttle is achieved when the throttle pedal is pressed to the floor, and also that it returns fully to idle when the pedal is released.

Thank you Guys! Problem solved. Here is my fix.
Well, the problem was not in the TPS nor the noise feedback from the alternator.
So I made a video about the issue that just might help others .

I know this is an old thread, but it may help me with my problem. Can you tell me if you were able to determine what material the bushings were made of, and how long the plastic ones last?
