another ABS thread....

ok so i found the how to sticky and finally got around to checking on why my ABS and Brake light has been on for the past 2 years..... let me tell the whole story as most might have read it some might have not.... i had a friend of mine's shop turn my rotors and install new pads and wheel bearings as i was planning on towing a racecar to Orlando for him.... we installed everything from the parts store and the brake pedal went to the floor on the inital drive.... the only way i could get a hard pedal was if the motor was not running.... we replaced the master cyl 3 times, the proportional valve and RWAL solonoids twice, we replaced calipers, rear wheel cyls. (chevy 1 tons), bled and bled the system using over a gallon of fluid so there was new fluid throughout the whole system.... when the pedal went to the floor the rear wheels would lock up and the light (abs) would come on but would go out as the pedal rebounded...... the light came on and stayed on when we unplugged the RWAL solonoids under the master cyl...... come to find out the inner wheel bearings that i was sold and that were listed in the computer as wheelbearings for my truck were just a little small allowing my rotors to angle in and not allowing my calipers to compress and putting them in a bind (the correct wheel bearing was listed in the computer as a bearing race..... ya go figure)..... i posted on here and got the "it'll go out after 60 starts" line and well that was 2 years ago with i'd fell safe saying over 1000 starts from then the light is still on..... so i grounded pin 13 on the diagnostic plug and the light started flashing for the code..... it flashed 2 times and stayed lit for a second then 2 times then on for a second and so on.... i assumed that was for code 2 since there are only 13 codes IIRC.... the code for that stated open isolation valve wiring or bad control module..... now when the truck is running the light is continually flashing.... how can i make it stop flashing? what would have gone wrong? any advice would be appreciated

sorry i got a little lengthy here but i wanted everyone to know what all happened....

ok i pulled the fuse on the side of the dash that was labeled for ABS it was on the 4th row down and a 20A... the lights continued to flash.... went under the hood on the driver side next to the battery and looked there.... there was no relay in the box for the yellow ABS light and there was no fuse for the ABS pump as i have RWAL.... lights are still flashing...

The way you describe it, you have a code "3" Not "2"

start counting with the first long flash, end with the last short flash.

ya it's like flash flash flaaaaaaaaaash flash flash flaaaaaaaaaash and so on..... even if it's three then it's open dump valve wiring or bad contol module.... where is the stinkin' control module on this thing? all i have is RWAL so there's no pump or anything....

control module is basicly above your 4WD lever behind the panel. Try pulling your negatives.

It's basicly over the center of the hump in the floor, behind the panel. just to the right of your knee bolster.

It's going to re-trip the abs code untill you correct the code "3" error. unless you already did that.
