am stupid or not

i have 96 2500 4wd and i am getting some shuttor out of the TC when i have OD locked out and am in 3rd pulling a hill with 10k behind me or so. the tranny was cold and has only done this on one trip have not driving much since the weekend. so i am thinking new tripple disk TC and valve body i have 194k on the tranny and dont want to put those things on if all it will do is blow out my seals in my tranny. but other than it works great. i have around 275 hp in it nothing too big. what do you think would be my best bet. my other thing is just change fuild in it and run it for a as long as it take to get a new tranny from some were down south i am in alaska and shipping kills me. and my other thing i was wondering is if there is some were i could get a good rebuild kit for mine with all the upgraded parts ect. i cac build the tranny myself with out a problem been awhile since i did one. thanks Trevor

I'd pull the pan, replace the fluid/filter and blow out the cooler lines.
I would also put an aftermarket cooler on.. to hell w/ the stock ones.
There is also a checkball in one of the return lines that only lets them flow one way, well they ahve a tendency of getting stuck so take that sucker out!

I would also run synthetic fluid in it..
Check the pan for any particals or crud..

Oh hell if you're pulling it why not have a rebuilder go inside it and check it out?

PM sent... TC clutch shudder is common with engines that are producing more than stock and/or towing heavy. In your case it is more due to the power levels coupled with moderate towing.

I highly doubt you would need a triple disk converter.

thanks for the good info i have searched on here alot but i must not be that good at it cause i dont find what i want

i mostly just want to do the tranny once i might some day decide i need 400 hp out of this thing and would like a tranny that will take it. i do in the summer pull a gooseneck with that is is about 20k after i put my 580 case backhoe on it. so that is my biggest load and it is just every so often in the summer along with farming stuff but never more than that.

i have never driven one of these trucks with a triple disk or a good single disk what is the differance on them? i put a billet single disk in a ford years ago and had a guy do some valve body work on it and made the truck run reall well.

on valve bodys is a transgo shift kit thing worth putting in there or just buy a built one is there any differance in them?

what is the best bang for the buck on upgradeing interal parts on my tranny?
