I have a 1996 with EGR (California model). I want to replace the air intake with a non-EGR model. Will the intake from a 24 valve fit on my 12 valve?

I'm pretty sure it will bolt up but the air horn has a different angle coming from the IC on a 24V IIRC. Probably be simpler to just find a non egr 12v horn.

 

What is the build date on your truck? I'm curious because I believe I have a CA truck (1996) that was made Oct. 1995 and I don't have an EGR. Unless the original owner took it off, maybe they started adding them to 1996.5 trucks.

 

Jan 1 1996 was the first EGR in Cal.

 

Your right, a 12V non-EGR would be easier, but they seem to be hard to find for a decent price. Seems like 24V owners are more likely to replace their intake horn with aftermarket units than 12v owners.
