just get a lifetime warranty one from your local auto zone, or napa. whoever has a lifetime warranty. also you can get a 3500 box and it will fit. not sure if there is any difference though. I know the 3500 boxes are about 100 bucks cheaper.

DO NOT get a aftermarket gear box. I made the mistake myself with my '99 dually. They just replace the seals, that's it. I bought 1 at Autozone, it lasted 2000 miles, replaced in warranty, 2nd one 1000 miles, replaced with 3rd one, 2000 miles again, got fully refunded and bought a used one from junkyard....then I had my steering back to normal.
All the rebuilt had a huge play, you could not keep your wheel steady, you always had to correct a little.
Checked with Napa and mfg of rebuilt is same of Autozone with same part number, and talked to other mechanics they said all the rebuilt boxes are junk, they might work on cars or light trucks, but not on a heavy front end like a diesel truck.
Dealer is $ 600.00 it's hard to swallow but if you can do it go for it, or else get a used from junkyard.

I'm not looking to buy a rebuilt one from any retail store; that's what I have now, and it's a piece of junk. I'm looking more into different performance parts, that is assuming they're manufactured better than the stock gears, which seem to be junk too. Thanks for the input though, I appreciate it.

You are right, I didn't read your post correctly, actually I didn't read it at all, I just replied to the one above mine.

Anyway yes I know a couple of guys with PSC boxes and they are very happy with it.
