how many choices are there of cam shafts to swap into my 12 valve? is a re ground unit the only way to go? I want one for the sole purpose of lowering my E.G.T. where is the best deal?

Helix II is not a regrind. But from my understanding they won't be produced again for awhile.

MaxSpool as far as regerinds..

Piers Diesel Research is where I got mine. They were out of stock on the regrinds so I had to get a new one which was about $100 more IIRC. It did lower my EGTs a little while towing, but not enough to go through the work and expense unless you need to pull the old cam for some other reason. (I did) Give them a call and they can offer up some good advice.

From research the cam in our engines is the #1 part that wears out the fastest..
The rear lobe.

Anyways, I supose you'll notice some EGT drops, but you'll also be able to spool up a bigger turbo quicker in the future

I am willing to do what ever it takes to lower my E.G.T. by 150* at WOT while towing, cuz I tow every day. so is there more choices for a cam?

If you are towing a measly 6500 pound trailer at WOT you need to save your money to pay the speeding tickets.

dont forget ,I live in southern California. It takes years of speeding for the highway patrol to catch up to you. the limit is 55 m.p.h. every one drives 75 to 80, towing or not. and if you drive fast enough , all the accidents happen behind you.
