Talking Adjusted tranny bands

I changed oil and fuel filter last Sunday, I also dropped the tranny pan and adjusted the 2 band adjustment screws. Wow! What a difference! I didn't think it would be that noticeable, but I was wrong. The gears feel slot better, the truck pulls, not slips in the forward gears.

mine has 391,000km on it and i just threw the converter in last week.. my tranny was doing some weird stuff so i figured if i threw the shift kit in it now it might buy some time.. man did that help but the converter still slipped a tiny bit in OD so i said screw it and threw the converter in anyway.. am i ever glad i did

Thats kind of what I'm thinking kujo. Have you done any research on what happens to the new parts if something else in the old tranny lets go?

im not worried about the valve body, thats easily cleaned out and no damage should happen if something lets go violantly to that anyway. the converter should be ok, but it would need to be flushed out somehow.. im only into the shift kit and converter for $450 anyway after some trading so im not out much.. sofar so good and the rest of the tranny seems to be fine.. i plan on adding the usual billet parts soon to since they are cheap and good insurance..
