AC Compressor not kicking on

AC Compressor not kicking on
I had replaced the condensor earlier this year and re-charged the system with R134 like it came with (the original condensor got punctured.
The other day I went to use the AC and the air coming out was warm.. the compressor isn't kicking in.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

ac
Bobcat, I had same thing happen the pther day on my 94 ctd only it was a little strange. I blew the horn at a squirrel crossing the street and blew a fuse, then it started to get warm in the cab with the ac on. checked under hood and lo and behold the compressor clutch was not engaging.Thought I had two problems now. The horn fuse was the quickest fix,put fuse in horn worked and so did the ac. Now dont ask me why they are on same circuit but possibly your 96 is wired the same.Worth a try though.Only other thing there it a ac relay in that group under hood on left fender, not sure how to test that though. Hope this helps.....

Get out your test light, and wire tapper if you have one.
There are pressure switches in line you should check. The low pressure is on the filter dryer, and the high pressure is right behind the compressor. You need to see if power is getting to either side of these switches first. If you are not getting power to either of those switches, you need to look upstream, at the actual AC switch in the dial on the dash control. If you have power coming out of there but not getting to the switches, it is probably going through the body computer and there is a problem there.
If you are getting power to one side of BOTH switches, then see if you are getting power through the switch. If not, that switch is bad.
If you are getting power through both switches then you need to see if you are getting power directly to the clutch.
I'm tired of typing now. Let me know what you find.

Refrigerant is fine..
If I take out the low pressure sensor (where is it?) will all the R134 come out?
Thanks
