$15,500 would probably buy mine! My job has changed and I don't have a need for a dually anymore!

I found another prospect, a 97 3500 dually which would suit me better. I did a vehicle report, and it showed a lean when titled early in it's life. The new owner took possesion 2 years ago, and when titled it also showed a lien. Don't know much about what this means. It seems to me that the new owner would have had to have the vehicle lien delt with in order to plate the truck? I just would not want to buy a vehicle, take the title and get a suprise! Any experience, thoughts on this?

Thanks fellas

Jay

I believe that the "lien " is just a statemant stating that the owner has a loan on this vehicle. If he has the title in hand and signs it over to you there is not much that can be done about it at that piont. But if you are nervous, the title will have the holders name on it if there is in deed a lien against it then you can check with them on the status of the loan.

The lien means someone is holding the title, more than likely, for a cash settlement of some kind for whatever reason. This could be a bank or financial instirution or a repair shop can put a Mechanics Lien on the vehicle for services rendered and not paid yet. Just and example or two that I know of. Same way the bank holds your deed on the house till it's paid for.
