98 2500 2wd 12 valve front coil springs
Hi All,
My passenger side coil spring broke this weekend... I've phoned around looking for one (or two, Ive heard you should replace in pairs, is this true?) however it seems it is a dealer part only,,, 425 each...ouchhh
Is there any aftermarket coils for the 2wd with stock ride height?
I also spoke to a diesel shop in town that do lift kits and they said they have lots of stock springs,,, but there not sure what year there from and there mostly from 4wd. Are the 2wd and 4wd springs the same?
Thanks in Advance...
Cheers

You can check part #'s if still on springs. Generally there is one parts # apart on right and left springs for same application. I would think a truck shop would have access to new MOOG springs. You can also check diameter and # of coils for pairs. Maybe a frame and alignment shop or a 4WD shop.

As a follow-up,
I ended up purchasing a set of Moog listed for the 94-96 dodge. The spring specs were correct, and upon arrival inspection to the old springs, they appered of better quality, specifically on the top side of the spring. After installation ride height was up about 1/4-3/8", however the old springs had 11 years and 190K on them. I was told by everyone I phoned that this was a dealer part only, the dealer wanted 450 ish a side (900 for both sides)... I paid 165 for both sides.
Just FYI for others.
Cheers
