You have the 47RE tranny in your 2500. For starters, as mentioned above I'd go with either a shift kit or aftermarket valve body from one of the 'big boys' (DTT, ATS, Suncoast, Goerend, etc...). Personally, I did the Trans-Go and after a few years of not being satisfied with the shift points (and many, many adjustments just to get it where it was) I changed to a DTT VB. All I can say is that the new VB is a night and day difference form the trans-go. With the T-G shift kit, it wouldn't downshift to 1st when I came to a stop unless I actually stopped. With the DTT, it'll shift back to 1st at approx 17mph. Also it's a bit quicker with the shifts correctly spaced on the DTT and I have a LOT less smoke when I roll through a stop sign. I'm sure all of the other tranny companies have VBs that perform similarly as they all are bench tested and set up properly. After the VB, I'd change out the torque converter for a lower stall speed (tighter) one.
