stock gearing in auto trans.
4" exhaust, stock injectors, fuel plate to zero. adjusted timing forward, BD valve body, BD flex plate, boost elbow.

getting truck to highway speeds in a hurry. goes through 1st, 2nd and 3rd are fine. the transition from 3rd to 4th, the jump in gearing seems as if its to much of a gap.

the RPMs do drop quite a bit, not sure of how much off top of my head, but that sudden drop of RPMs and the ground speed of truck moving...does that pose a lot of valve pressure internally to the transmission?

I think the truck runs like a hot rod. i run it mostly unloaded. I do carry building materials, those times i don't hammer it.

You are probably feeling the TC LU, it is the big RPM drop. My 97 shifted 1,2,3,TCLU, then 4th.

TCLU was probably 500 plus RPM drop, while OD was only 200 or so. You will probably kill a TC sooner or later, but that's not because of too much pressure.

I agree with convertor lockup.

I personally love the feel of the truck after lockup, especially when I am accelerating and the truck simply gets more responsive to throttle input.
