95 cummins low rpm stumble fixed!
Bought a 95 to replace my cherry 91 back in March of this year and have been going over it fixing problems etc. This forum has been invaluable in helping me replace a front rotor, retime the pump, new injectors and install a new lift pump. Truck has always had a bad stumble until it hit 1400 rpm or so and then the motor ran fine once past that. Previous owner said "they all do it". I have been hunting down the problem and finally decided it was the pump and I almost plunked down $725 to replace it. I decided to do one more search on this forum to see if anybody had any more ideas on the problem and one guy said that all the 94-95's need a couple more clicks on the governor springs to run right.
Well, I put a few more clicks on them and it runs perfect!! There is a small bit of flutter there yet but is almost perfect.
Just wanted to say thanks for saving me $725 This is a great forum with tons of knowledge.
