95 auto trans drain back valve???

95 auto trans drain back valve???

I just reciently replaced my lines with aeroquip lines and fittings (about $130 compaired to $488 from dodge) and I re-used my drain back valve. Is this needed, or could I by-pass mit with no worries? My trans works fine now but I am leary of the valve. I also replaced my loose stock converter with a Goerend tripple disc and it is super!!! It has a very low stall and is more "direct" at an idle. I can hear my rear slightly clunk when shifting from drive to reverse now, but that baby hooks!! It is a different truck now.

I was told to remove the check valve. If it goes out or gives trouble your transmission will suffer. Go to neutral after you start the truck before you go to the gear you wont, to fill the converter. good luck Jim

Get rid of the valve.
I assume you also replaced your tranny valve body, if so the one Goerend sells allows fluid to circulate even in park.
