Pretty normal. Just not warm enough to burn everything I would think. Once you've driven for a bit the engine is warmer and it clears up.

Yup, just a cold engine. Is your timing stock? That could affect it too.

Timing is definitely something to look at, but I've also found that a quart of 2 stroke oil in a full tank helps reduces this issue considerably as well.

I had one leaking and all I had to do was turn it a 1/4" more turn and it stopped. They strip easily so be careful.

Yes they are threaded onto the injector

You need to contact the previous owner and get documentation on what is actually in that engine. I'm taking it you recently purchased this truck? In my case, I've owned my rig 8.5 years, and it's still 100% stock. I would want to know exactly what was put in that engine, not just "It's got bigger injectors" which is a statement that states nothing at all.

Once you have documentation in hand (including any possible warranties on the parts) you need to take this up with the supplier of the aftermarket injectors. In this case, the white smoke (you do not indicate amount) could be somewhat normal, cold diesel's of this era smoke a little white until warmed up. However the fuel smell isn't, except a little you may get backing out of a garage, etc. Something is up if that's the case.

Welcome to DTR...go a head under "User CP" and fill out your signature so we can help you more in the future. Good luck with your truck.

How much bigger are the injectors from stock? I installed 370's in my old 94 and it would haze a lot on cold starts. And even after it warmed up I could still get haze if it was under 55 degrees.....
