I put a #8 plate and gauges in my 94 three months ago. Free way hills that I would pull the stock 5.9 with a 8K boat behind it down to 45 MPH, I can now pull the same hills at 60 to 65 MPH. I should have done it years ago.

do a boost elbow so you can get more air into the equation. keep it at or below 35psi. Keep egts below 1250 for extended periods of time.
You can grind your stock plate to any profile you want (i have done this for MANY trucks). Dont forget to loosen the starwheel on the afc housing so you can get a little more out of it off the line. If you have an auto, the plate alone full forward will slip a stock tranny, you have to do a little more to get a stock clutch to slip.
After the fuel plate, do either a 3k or 4k gsk (i prefer the 4k). Good luck!

Is a #8 plate the most aggressive fueling plate you can get for the inline pumps and how do the plates work or how does it benefit better fuel flow? Just trying to learn some P7100 pump tech/info and thanks.

Not to intrude on your thread but im curious what everyone would suggest for my truck in my sig line for a fuel plate?
By the way im towing 10K-15K on a regular basis with this truck so if that affects which plate i get let me know im a newb to performance upgrades, but im tired of not being able to haul up some of the hills here in good ol' washington state with some speed

Unless you have a good clutch, I'd do no more than slide your stock plate forward a bit, loosen up the starwheel, and slide the AFC forward. Any more than that, and you're askin' for trouble. Just those minor mods will make a world of difference on your truck.

Seems how i bought the truck from somebody im not sure about the clutch, was told it had some sort of performance clutch in it but i have no clue what it is All i know is its a pain in the butt to slip it would rather hop than slip 90% of the time espicially in reverse

I use a #10 fuel plate and love it, pull any hill as fast as I want no problem, thats a gross weight of about 16,000lbs. Plate is in the stock position. My understanding is the #10 plate is the best for towing, as far as egt's go.
