Re:6 sp conversion ??
I did the 6 speed conversion on my truck myself. I didn't buy the new crossmember and all that. The whole swap including the cost of the transmission ran about $2,300.00. I bought a new shifter stick and fab'd my own crossmember ( I basically bolted the 5spd crossmember on backwards. It's almost a direct fit. Very small amount of cutting and welding had to be done to make the old bolts work.) It was about $200.00 even to have the front drive shaft and the rear drive shaft lenghtend and shortened 5 1/2 inches. It took about a day for me to do it and that was in my parents drive-way with a floor jack and some wood. Your old slave cyl works with the six speed and I just bought an adapter clutch for the bigger input shaft of the new transmission. The NV5600 is definately a towing transmission. It makes the 5spd look like mouse poop in size. The 6 speed has the better advantages in the 2-3-4-5 gear ranges as those are the gears that were changed in ratio. 1st and 6th are almost the same as the 5spd's 1st and OD if not exactly the same. I liked the 5spd better for trying to go fast.... but feel much better having that bohemeth buffalo sized NV5600 tranny behind my CTD. If you need some helpful info on the swap later on just ask.
