5th gear nut part number

What is the latest 5th gear nut part number that a dealer or anybody else will recognize? The last one I put in lasted a 1.5 years and was the one with the split nut and clamp screw, part number 5013887-AA. I staked it 8 time around the lip and used red Loctite. I've heard of one that has a set screw. Are they better?

I pull a 12.1K 5er and have a #11 plate slid full forward. I may be upgrading to a CTD 600 and don't want to go with the fully splined shaft.

I don't remember how far the splines went through the gear, but what if I had the gear surfaced ground so the nut/washer seated against the spline instead of the gear? Would that work?

Thanks for the reply. Haven't decided if I will fix it or have it done.
