Napa called late yesterday and left a message that they could not get the castrol. Thanks for the info. I'll order on-line.

alot of guys runn redline or amsoil in there nv 4500 say it shifts better. syntorqfrom what i understand is synthetic 75-90 with gl-4 rating if im wrong someone chime in.

I just fixed one today and it was the plate on the rear of the tranny it is the plate that holds the rear bearing in place the bolts were loose not bad either..Hope this might help you...

i must of missed something here so clue me in....why only castrol in the tranny? something special compared to other synthetic's??

Mainly because that's what NV says is the only lube you should use.
I'm sure there are other fluids that will work just fine but highly doubt if they will be much cheaper, easier to get or work any better.

My truck does not have the humm or rattle but is really loud in 4th gear when getting on the throttle. I know the tranny will make more noise when you put mroe HP to it but this tranny is loud in the cab.
