47RH same as 47RE?
Hello I have a few questions- I just installed a Goerend 900/400 into my 1995 47RH and adjusted the bands, Let me just say that this forum and members helped greatly. My questions are:
1. Is the 47RH really a RE? My local trans guy says they are both mechanical with a electronic controled overdrive and that dodge just made a name change in 1996??
2. WIth my new goerend converter I can now approch full throttle with the converter locked for the first time... but just as I approch full throttle the 47RH unlockes the converter, ***? I suppose I can just slide my fuel plate all the way and then id never need to floor it but still, why does it unlock?
Thanks, Joe

If I remember correctly, they did the un-lock at full throttle to protect the converter clutch.
(dodge doesn't know the Cummins produces peak torque at 1700!!)
The differences between the RH and RE trans is this.
RH is hydraulicly shifted thru 3rd.
RE is electronicly shifted thru 3rd.
Both use the computer to shift into lock-up and overdrive.
RE must have a different computer than the RH.
