47RH...Need PCM/ECM?

Need wiring help, or maybe just tech advice.

I have (I am told) the 47RH tranny. It is from a '95 build date Dodge 2500. I have ONLY the shift linkage, throttle position cable, and the three wires toward the back (facing upwards) hooked up. The center wire is 12V power, the front and rear are on toggle switches to a ground (I dont know how well these are functioning, but figure this is not my actual current problem)

Am I missing any wires to get this to shift properly? I was told this transmission did not need the PCM/ECM to get it to function properly, being hydraulic.

The TC was installed by a few of us, and I know it was mostly full, but no one knows if it was filled completely.

I can shift into drive and sometimes it will stay in first and top out at about 5mph, sometimes I can feel it shift pretty quickly up to third and still only max out at about 5mph. It is taching out well above the given speed. It just feels like I have a 100:1 gear ratio. TC doesnt feel like its slipping, but I am not ruling it out.

Thanks for any insight

- Jesse
Am I overlooking some wiring? There are a few non-connected plugs.

Oh, forgot to add that it is a 2wd tranny that we converted to 4x4 with a 98 24valve t-case.

Do you have a kickdown/TV cable hooked up?

If you do, then that is what sets your shifts.

Throttle cable/kickdown cable is a factor in shifting. Lever on tranny must be fully forward at closed throttle. Shorten cable to lower upshift points.

The 47 RH only has the three wires in one connector, OD and LU. The rest of the transmission is just like a 727 hydraulic unit. The OD and the lockup are controlled by the solenoids, hence the three wires. I would check the pressures in the tranny.

What OD section did you use?

Ill take a picture. There are unused plugs. I just want to figure out what is what right now, and clean it all up once its ready to be daily driven again.

I have the factory wiring harness, and the PCM i guess it is...but was told the PCM was bad. The donor drove to the shop fine first-third, but 4th and O/D did not work (was told due to the PCM). Id be happy to just get normal speeds in 1,2, & 3 for now.

Sorry, I lied/forgot!

Picture 1, vehicle speed sensor, looks like an RE OD case to me.
Picture number 2, looks like an RH lockup and OD 3 wire connector.
Picture number 3 on the right side is the neutral saftey switch that I forgot about. The left side of the picture is the tranny temp sensor plug.

The next picture has been covered.
The last picture, I don't know the part no's off the top of my head.

So any idea what my problem is?

Have you checked the line pressure at the accumulator? the T/C should fill when it runs.

Talked to Garmons the other day. He was a huge help. Turns out the RH transmission has two hydraulic tubes that mate up with the RH tailshaft housing. Apparently with the RE tailshaft section I was using (no tubes), the fluid was just dumping into the tailshaft housing/t-case. Therefore it would shift, but didnt have the line pressure to hold the clutches decently.

SOO, I sent one of my guys on a 5 hour roundtrip to pick up a complete craigslist 47RH...only to have it be a 47RE. Now I have two worthless trannies, and someone is to going to get smacked in the side of the head with a 47RE after we take our fuel money back from him.

Anyone have a 47RH laying around, or just the 4x4 O/D tailshaft section??
