47RH bit dust
My 47RH in the '95 Ram 3500 4x4 won't go in reverse. It moves forward in D, 2 and 1. And oddly, it moves forward in Neutral too. It has 270k miles on it.
In the past I've considered building up one of my stock 47RHs (I have one in the motorhome too). Now the time has come so I plan on rebuilding this dead 47RH with extreme performance parts and slap it in the motorhome. I'll use the stock 47RH (only 190k miles) into the 3500.
I need help in making a list of things to do, including what might be already broken inside, for a 47RH that can handle 350/700 hp/ftlbs. Once again I'm on this awesome site for help as I did 5 years ago when I swapped a cummins into my 4x4 Class A motorhome.
I'll start (please help me with listing hard Parts as well as soft ones):
1. Shift kit
2. Billet converter (already have it)
3. ATSG manual (is there a more appropriate one?)
4.

Forget the shift kit, just do a Valve Body from a reputable place, ( Goerend/ATS/etc. )
You have the converter, next is a decent rebuild kit, a billet apply lever and make sure your pump is good.
Angry Johhny on the first gen board is a very good source of specifics, he is a mater Torqueflite tech.

No, sorry, I am just a halfways Trans guy, I would PM Angry Johhny and tell him I sent you to ask about what will cause it.
He's a heck of a guy and knows them forwards and backwards.......
