47re trans shifting problems

I have a 98 2wd 12 valve with a 47re, I just bought the truck a few months ago.
have not really drivin it till lately. what happens is it likes to take off in second gear at times. and when putting into gear to go forwards it will take off in I think 3rd gear and maybe 4th to0 lock up and kill the engine within seconds.
put in neutral and restart, it may take off or do the same thing. really crappy when making a corner at stop light. when the tranny works it works great. lock up is strong.
so hear is what I have done, pulled the pan. the fluid is clean no odor from heat. the magnet had a black slimy residue about an 1/8 or so thick on it.
no metal in pan, actually pretty clean, other than magnet.
I put a governor pressure sensor and solenoid in, Mopar parts. I adjusted the the bands per manual. put new filter and oil in it (atf plus 4).
drove it, didn't act up for a while. what I did notice after this the tc lock up is much smoother but still firm. not sliding in. I have checked relay and also the connector at trans for issues appear good. I feel a slight thud when coming to a complete stop like its going into first. I have also replaced the tps and set it at 1.0 volts and maxes out at close to five. no warning lights on in the dash either.
the truck has been tampered with, I ran it on a dyno in NE iowa and its putting out 700 foot lbs torque and close to 300 hp.
I am nervous about this trans. the truck is for my wife for pulling here 32 foot horse trailer. I prefer a 6 gear! less to go wrong.
any Ideas or good tranny shops in the SE Minnesota?

Time for a Goerend Transmission. It will be the last one you'll ever need.

goerand transmission

goerand does not build transmissions any more.
they only sell parts.
"no in house transmission rebuilds" they referred me to a place in the twin cities.
after reading through all of the info on this site about the many problems that have plagued this transmission, are people really getting the bang for the buck on these performance rebuilds? how long are they lasting?
how are the warranty claims, are you left out to dry if an issue arises.
i had a valair clutch put in my 05 and it was terrible. very noisy and shudder so bad when letting out the clutch i could not pull a trailer. went through the break in with it as stated in there info before pulling anything.
called them and was left high and dry. our parts are not bad. we don't sell bad parts. after 2000 miles had it pulled apart, and failure analysis done. the pressure plate was bad. i emailed the company the info and pictures to no avail. finally the owner answered the phone and sent me a new clutch. i sold it on ebay, and put the dodge oem clutch back in and is working great. and quiet.
I tow all the time with my nv5600 and never worry.
this truck will be used the same.
so i am not sure goerand trans even exist any more? other than parts.

If Dave recommended them, they have to be good ( rebuilders at least ).

Just have the up grades done to the 47 and it will just as good if not better.

Things you should want/need/ask for, are higher pressure= shift kit/ VB.
Extra clutches.
Better front servo and accumulator.
Correct clearances because factory is too sloppy.

Any rebuilder who says they won't do a shift kit, avoid. They don't understand auto trans and won't spend the time to get it right.
Also, a shop that says " rebuild to factory specs", as above too sloppy.
