47re quirk or business as usual?

So we know our trans is giving up the ghost.

It runs out great without a load.

But we need to ask...

When we were moving some trailers around the yard--30 foot travel traile and a open bed car hauler--it doesn't want to move in reverse UNTIL we engage 4 wheel low.

Is this normal and will the rebuild we do in the next few weeks solve this quirk?

Thanks

The bands might need to be adjusted.

You have to drop the pan to adjust the band anyway, might as well change filter.
If your fluid looks and smells good there is no reason to change the whole 17 quarts.
Just the 4-5 you lose dropping the pan is fine.
