47RE line pressure on Jacks?
Hi everyone,
I have finaly finished installing my tranny inline spin on filter and pressure transmitters to monitor line and TC lockup. I ran the truck up last night, the first time in a few months an I had no leaks
I replaced those OEM transmission hoses up front with aeroquip fittings as well, I am very pleased with the way it all turned out.
Does anyone know what kind of line pressures I should be seeing on jacks I can put the vehicle in gear and can run it up to 60mph and get the tc to lock up. But I gave very little throttle pressure so I doubt if I am moving the transmition throttle valve any
Thanks Again
Brian

I have know ideal what kind of pressure you would get with the truck setting on jack stands. Why not set it on the ground and go for a spin?
Any how, Then my ATS trany locks-up I am well over 100 psi, ans I am usually doing over 50 mph. The throttle position plays a part in how much psi the clutch will see. I think I would be a little too nervous to run my truck up to 60mph while it sat on jack stands. Doesn't sound very safe to me, I guess I'm just a wussy?

Where are you pressure gauges hooked up?
I'm no tranny expert but in hydraulics well versed. It seems to me if you measuring the pressure in the cooler lines the pressure should be close to zero since it just drops back into the pan which isn't under pressure. The only pressure would be from line friction or a clogged filter.

I have the pressure gauges on the line pressure port (r/h side tranny, middle port) and the cooler line.
I get about 55 psi at idle in gear and about 75 or so at 60mph indicated. The cooler pressure when the TC locks up is at about the same as line, 75 or so.
Its a great way to see if your rear wheels are balanced
It was interesting to note that at steady rpms I had it set at 1500, That during the shift from 2nd to third gear the rpms would drop about 50 rpm for about 1 second, then from third to fourth about 100 rpm drop again for about 1 second.
with no load to spin but the tires, it would seem odd that the engine would load up and srop as much as it does
don't know if its normal or not?? It felt fine on the road before it was parked.
I will take better notes on the shift patern on jacks. I think I will email DTT as well on there website. I hear he is very well versed on these trannys and might have some insight as well to whats normal or not.
Cheers
