24V rods and pistons in a 12 V?

Will 24 valve rods and pistons fit in a 12 valve?

They will fit, but the bowl placement in the piston is different between the engines.

Is that 24v VP pump or 24v CR?

VP, 2001 model. I need some pistons for a 12V project and saw some 24V on Fleabay. I just wondered what the difference was. Thanks.

It will work if you put a 24v head on it too.

Sorry, I am kinda highjacking your thread. I have a 12 valve p-pumped 1st gen truck and was wondering if I have to change the cam to go to a 24 valve head?

You'd want to, the 24v has a rocker ratio somwhere around 1.3:1, whereas the 12v has a 1.6:1 ratio. You won't get the lift that you'd want with the 12v cam with the 24v rockers.
