210 hp marine turbo diesel

I don't seem to be asking the right question I guess. I am going to install new injectors in this engine and wonder if I should buy the same injectors which are in the engine or can I benefit by buying injectors such as the 370 marine injectors? I understand I need to find the source of the problems with the engine and it's lack of power but it is going to get new injectors. I also am wondering if I change/replace the turbo charger should I go to a larger turbo for added HP benefits? What changes do I need to consider with the injector pump etc?

I just got home from the holidays and have read some of your questions and I would think that you would want to solve the issues with the boat first and then tackle the HP needs you might want,as if and when the engine is running correctly as it is at the stock HP you might be satisfied, Goodluck,,Rick

I guess the question is still what injectors would work and what could I expect by changing?

Have you tried checking the fuel pressure?

It never hurts to upgrade the injectors, but you do need to do some preliminary diagnosis before you do anything. I put big injectors, 3k governor spring, etc. on mine and am now experiencing fuel AND air restriction issues.

Fuel pressure

Slowly starting to work on this issue while we keep using the boat. Removed the bulb in the fuel line to prime the engine and replaced with new 3/8's fuel line and new clamps. Got a call this morning that the engine ran for about 30 minutes and was turned off for the first dive and then would not start. Instructed the Capt. to check for air in the racor filter, none showing. Then walked the capt. thru piming with the fuel/lift pump on the side of the block. After 20 to 30 strokes of the lever with 1 injector fitting cracked the engine refired. Am now thinking as you indicated it may infact be a weak lift pump. Ordered a new pump and it should be here in Hawaii on Monday. Nothing is ever available here the same day it seems. What pressure should I expect from that pump if I were to check the pressure?
