I thought oil was leaking somewhere in my A/C earlier because I was getting a smell through the vents but I couldn’t find a leak.



Ok I think what I’m smelling is the battery!….. I went out and checked my truck again and couldn’t find an oil leak. I did notice that the battery had moisture on top and when I started looking around it was bubbling at the top “vent”. It was foaming a bit.

Do you have a multimeter? First steps are to check the battery voltage at the battery with the engine off and again with the engine at idle and at some rpm above about 1200. If the peak voltage is above 14,5 volts, then it could indicate that the battery is getting overcharged.
Another thing you can do is go to Autozone, O'Reily's or similar and ask them to do a battery and alternator check.
When you find and fix the cause of the problem, let us all know what fixed it so that we can all learn.

Another possibility is that something is failing in the battery and it can't accept a charge at the rate that is being pushed into it. Does it sound like it's bubbling/fizzing when charging?
