1997 12 valve Fuel Filter

Does the 1997 12 valves supposed to have the drain tube and heater on their fuel filters like my 1995 12 valve does? My dad just bought a 1997 and theres a hole I can feel it on the bottom theres nothing in there like on mine..... Mine has the drain tube thingy and the heater set up...... Thanks

That is not the heater on the bottom of the filter.
That is the WIF [ water in filter ] sensor.
The heater is down beside the lift pump.

: Eddie : 8)

Go for the PRIME-LOC filter relocator, worth every cent.

It a system that relocates the fuel pump to the top of your engine compartment (left side just ahead of brake master cly) for ease access. Trust me on this, when I got my truck I took one look at how much on a pain servicing the filter would be, and ordered the PRIME-LOC. They are sold on GENOS WEB site, go to TDR site and links page.

Re:1997 12 valve Fuel Filter

The 97 has a drain valve located near the top of the filter housing. It's yellow and you turn it instead of puching up up like you do on the 95's.
Here's s link to some instructions I typed out in another thread.
