1995 horse power between A/T-M/T?

i got a 95 doner truck with a bad A/T and noticed that the hp rating was 15hp less than a M/T. i understand the reason for detuning but what was done to detune the motor or turn up for the m/t? thanks

It's in the plate used with the injection pump. 160 for A/T. 185 for M/t.

1996 & 97 used 185 A/T and 225 for M/T. Not sure how to change that.

i have another Q: would it be smart to be adding ATF in the fuel being that this wonderful EPA b.s. ultra low sulfer being that it doesnt have the lubrisity that the low sulfer did.. because on the new CAT equipment we have to add atf or cat will void the worente. what do yall think?

ATF will do the opposite.. Stick with good quality fuel additives and keep the ATF for the tranny. ANY diesel manufacturer will void warranty on ATF in the tank and so they should.. Nasty stuff.

Its more than just the plate. The difference between the 160 and 180 pumps are some internal geometry change to the barrels and cams.. Same for the 215 pump over the 180. They are actually different pumps, not just different plates.

most add a quart of el cheapo 2-stroke oil to the fuel to get the desired "lubrisity", there are many threads on it/ lots of info.

FWIW, the hp ratings are 160, 175, 180, 215 respectively. And like was said, its more than just plate position. Injectors are also different.

Cool

i am fairly new to the cummins world so with that being said what are some simple things that i can do to get some respectible power? this A/T motor is getting bolted up to a nv4500 with a 1 3/8" input shaft and 13" dual disc clutch. i gross 27000lbs on a regular basis. and money is tight being that this doner truck almost drained my bank account. thank u every one for the input
