1995 2500 Sputtering
A buddy of mine has a 1995 2500...the truck has brand new injectors, new injection pump, zero plate. The truck runs well, and has a very even power curve. It does not smoke too much, but at idle or in between gears, or low rpm the motor sounds like it is skipping or sputtering. Checked injectors...4 and 5 seem to be off, but no white smoke or power loss. The previous owner had most of the performance work done to it, and the mechanic mentioned that he "clocked" the delivery valves. We are at a loss as to what this means and the consequences. I hope yall can give us some advice. sabreson

Its just an hx35.....he runs about 40lbs of boost. The truck doesn't get hot, it climbs between 900-1250 on WOT runs. i am sure if he stayed in it too long it would spike above 1250, but it stays reasonable most of the time. Regular driving keeps it well under 1250*.

I would tend to say your timing sliped. I would check it. If it is 12deg. or less it will make the engine lope at idel. I believe 13.5 is what Cummins tag states. Move it to 15.5 and it will be smoother and get a little better milage and power. One other thing I would try is putting some 2 stroke oil in the fuel at about 400/1.
